At YMCA Victoria, we are passionate about our children's programs - which aim to support, nurture and encourage your child’s development through early education.
With over 14 early learning centres across Victoria, we know how to build engaging programs your child will love.
Two new centres are opening in West Melbourne in 2020:
- Tarneit YMCA Early Learning Centre (Now open)
- Wyndham YMCA Early Learning Centre (March 2020)
We believe that children learn best through play, discovery and self-initiated learning. Everyday our YMCA Early Learning Educators deliver tailored, age appropriate and exciting activities in an environment that supports your child’s holistic development.

Our philosophy
Building capacity
YMCA has a role in building the capacity of those whose lives we work with.
Developing the whole child
YMCA strives for the highest quality education and care, assisting each child to maximise their learning outcomes.
Providing high quality, evidence-informed practice
YMCA enables children to identify their own learning interests and needs and supports them as they develop and grow.
-
Safeguarding and quality standards
Our first priority is safety. YMCA Victoria is accredited by the Australian Childhood Foundation as a child-safe organisation. This accreditation was achieved by ensuring child-safe practices are embedded in everything we do.
In our everyday practice, our programs aim to exceed the National Quality Framework This framework governs all early childhood and school age education and care services in Australia and ensures all services operate to a high-quality standard. It is overseen by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority.
The following legislation applies to our services:
- The Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010
- The Education and Care Services Regulations 2011
When your child is enrolled in YMCA Children’s Programs, they will:
- Have their ideas, interests and capabilities enthusiastically developed and nurtured
- Learn from educators who receive regular training and professional development opportunities
- Have parental feedback and insights incorporated in their care plans
- Have their daily routines and transitions incorporated into their time in care
- Experience the benefits of regularly audited programs.
