Construction at our brand new purpose-built Tarneit YMCA Early Learning Centre is ahead of schedule and just about ready for an early handover. The new centre is nearing completion with all of the spaces, indoor and outdoor, taking shape.
Our construction team, ADP, have requested an early handover on Thursday 7 November, giving us even more time to perfect the centre before we open our doors to local Tarneit families in January 2020.
We recently completed all plastering, painting and ceiling works, and the installation of all fittings, fixtures, plumbing and joinery will soon follow. The innovative eWater system, an environmentally friendly, non-toxic cleaning system, in now installed.
What's happening next?
Furniture and appliances have been ordered and are due to be delivered upon handover.
Once installation is complete, we will be set to turn on the electricity and commence the installation of the commercial kitchen.
Once inside is complete, external construction should not be far behind. The playground, which includes a large open play space with an overhanging verandah for sun protection, is due to be completed next week, along with all external exits. The car park will follow soon after, ensuring easy access to the centre.
Weekly site meetings will be continuing to ensure we meet our new handover date.
We are excited to be providing the Tarneit families with an early learning hub for learning and imagination. Your child’s safety, transition from indoor to outdoor play, and inclusivity have been at the forefront of this design process, and we can’t wait for you to see the result.
We think you and your family are going to love Tarneit YMCA Early Learning Centre.
Guide tours of the centre will begin late November 2019. To be notified when tours commence, register your interest via our enquiry form.
