UPDATE 16 NOVEMBER 2022

Dear Members and Guests.

Today, after heavy flooding in our plant room, electrical damage to heat pumps, stock loss, storm damage and a complete loss of power, we are proud to announce that all services have safely returned.

Nothing has made us happier than hearing the hustle and bustle in the Centre this morning. We have felt very grateful for all the amazing feedback we have been hearing. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support.

Please be aware that currently some of the pools may be cooler than normal and are steadily increasing in temperature. We are operating within safe pool operation guidelines.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

  • a lightning strike that knocked out all communication, safety panels
  • Burnt-out pumps
  • Pumps that have been submerged by flood water
  • All these pumps needed to rebuild, cleaned and dried
  • The unblocking of water lines due to flood water debris
  • Rechecking all safety, security and electrical panels affected by Saturday’s storms
  • A six-hour ‘run in time’, once all items were confirmed safe, to ensure water balance and heat are at satisfactory levels
  • Communication of these closures, reopening and staged processes when the information came to hand by our incredible maintenance team and trades

This reopening is due to a strong culture of resilience and commitment to you and our State Aquatic Centre. Thank you for understanding.
